Playing in demo mode: what is kept and what is not
Every game on Starvellan can be played without an account. This is what demo mode gives you, and what it deliberately leaves out.
Open any Starvellan game without signing in and it starts at once in demo mode. The quickest way to find out whether a game suits you is to play a few rounds, so we did not want a form standing in the way.
Practice credits that live in the tab
Demo mode gives you 20,000 practice credits. They exist only in the memory of the page you have open: nothing goes into your browser's storage and nothing is sent to us. Reload the page or close the tab and the demo begins again from scratch.
Run out of practice credits and the balance refills on its own, with a short note to say so. There are no prompts and no pop-ups asking you for anything.
Four ways to tell
Demo mode is deliberately easy to spot. It shows up in four places:
- A banner on every game page headed: Demo mode — nothing is saved.
- A note on your first round explaining that progress is not saved in demo mode.
- The balance read-out, which puts the word Demo in front of your practice credits.
- The player bar at the bottom of the screen, which lists you as a guest in demo mode.
The full games, not samples
Nothing is trimmed for guests. Demo rounds use the same rules, the same pay tables and the same random results as rounds on an account, and every feature, from feature spins on the slots to the respins of Hold & Spin, behaves exactly as it does for members.
What joining adds
A free account is about keeping things. It holds your Glints, beginning with 25,000, plus your level, Club tier, favourites and recently played games. It also opens the Observatory, with the Compass Wheel, Star cards, Missions and the Orbit meter, and the player care tools: the time reminder and Take a break.
Accounts live in your browser too, not on our server. You receive a recovery key when you join, and it is the only way to reset a forgotten password, so store it somewhere safe.
Practice credits and Glints are both scores and nothing more. Neither has any cash value, and neither can be bought, withdrawn or exchanged. Starvellan is for adults aged 18 and over in the UK, and for entertainment only.
18+ — for entertainment only. No real money play. No prizes of monetary value.
