The terms for using Starvellan

1. About this agreement

These Terms of Use cover every visit to Starvellan, whether you browse, play a demo game or open an account, and using the site means you accept them. Our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy sit alongside them and describe what is stored and why.

If you would rather not accept these terms, please don't use the site. You use Starvellan as a private consumer, for your own enjoyment, and these terms never reduce the rights consumer law gives you.

2. Who runs Starvellan

Starvellan, at starvellan.co.uk, is run by Noti Digital Monoprosopi IKE, a company registered in the Hellenic Republic under G.E.MI. no. 168204703000 (VAT: EL801924756), with its registered office at 56 Stereas Ellados Street, Nea Penteli 152 39, Greece. Wherever these terms say "we", "us" or "our", they mean Noti Digital Monoprosopi IKE.

3. What the site offers

Starvellan is a free-to-play social casino games site. Its games borrow the look of slots, Hold & Spin, cascades, instant games and tables, but they exist purely for entertainment: no real money play and no prizes of monetary value.

You will find nothing to buy here: no shop, no subscription and no in-app purchases, and we never request payment details. As nothing of value can be staked or won, Starvellan is not gambling and we do not act as a gambling operator. Playing or success in social casino gaming does not imply future success at real-money gambling.

4. Age and residence

Only adults may use Starvellan. You must:

• be at least 18 years old;
• live in the United Kingdom, meaning England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland; and
• use the site for your own private, non-commercial entertainment.

Every visitor is asked to confirm they are 18 or over, and the sign-up form asks for a date of birth. Anyone under 18 should leave now. Where we have reason to think a user is under 18, we may block their access.

5. How Glints work

Glints are the points that games on Starvellan are played with. Treat them as a scoreboard and nothing more:

• Glints have no cash value, and no value of any other sort.
• Glints are never on sale, at any price, now or in future.
• Glints cannot be withdrawn, handed to another player, traded, sold or exchanged for money, goods, services, vouchers or anything else.
• Glints are not your property. They are part of the game and exist only inside your account, in your own browser.

New accounts open with 25,000 Glints. More come from new levels, the Observatory and the Orbit meter, and an empty balance can be refilled with a free top-up of 5,000 Glints. We may change the amounts and the ways Glints are given out at any time. Trying to sell, buy or trade Glints or accounts, on this site or anywhere else, breaches these terms.

6. Playing as a guest

Every game can be played without an account. Guests play with practice credits held only in the memory of the open page: nothing is saved, and reloading the page starts a fresh demo. Practice credits are not Glints, cannot be moved into an account and have no value. The games, rules and random draws are the same for guests as for account holders.

7. Accounts kept in your browser

Starvellan accounts work differently from most. Each one is stored only in the browser where it was created, and nothing about it is sent to our server. That means we cannot view, find, recover or transfer your account.

• Passwords and recovery keys are kept as PBKDF2-SHA-256 hashes, never as readable text.
• A recovery key is shown once, when you join. It is the only way to reset a forgotten password, because we cannot reset one for you. Keep it safe.
• Clearing site data, using a private window, or moving to a different browser or device means the account will not be there. Clearing site data deletes it permanently.
• Anyone with access to your device and browser may reach your account. Sign out on shared devices and use a password you do not use elsewhere.

The details you give when joining, including your date of birth, must be true. Please keep to one account per person in each browser.

8. Observatory rewards and Club tiers

The Observatory (the Compass Wheel, Star cards, Missions and the Orbit meter) and the Club tiers (Spark, Glow, Comet, Nova, Pulsar and Galaxy) are free features for account holders. They give out Glints and record your progress. They are not offers, they have no value outside the game, and none of them ever requires a purchase.

We may adjust, rebalance, pause or withdraw any reward feature, tier or level threshold. Since Glints and levels carry no value, no such change gives anyone a right to compensation.

9. Rules, random results and faults

Each game has a rules page describing how it plays and everything it pays. Results are drawn by your browser's cryptographic random number generator at the moment you play, as our page on how results are made explains.

No software is flawless. When a fault produces a result or balance that contradicts a game's rules, the rules take priority and the faulty result is void. If a fault takes Glints from your balance we cannot put them back, as we hold no copy of your account; and because Glints have no value, this is not a financial loss.

10. Player care tools

Every account comes with a time reminder and with Take a break, which pauses all games on the account for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Both live in your player care settings. 11. Fair and lawful use

We ask you to use Starvellan fairly and within the law. In particular, you must not:

• use the site while under 18 or while living outside the United Kingdom;
• offer, buy, sell or trade Glints, accounts or recovery keys, or suggest that Glints are worth anything;
• attack, overload or probe our server, or point bots, scrapers or scripts at it;
• send spam, abuse, threats or unlawful content through the contact form, or impersonate anyone;
• copy, frame or republish our games, artwork or text, or reuse our code to build another service;
• use the site in any way that is unlawful or harms other people.

Editing the game code in your own browser changes only what appears on your own screen. It creates nothing of value, it is not supported, and we cannot help with problems it causes.

12. Who owns what

The games and their artwork, sound and code, the Starvellan name, Vela the fox and the text across the site are original work made for Starvellan. They belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may enjoy the site for yourself, but you may not copy, sell, adapt or redistribute any part of it without our written permission, except where the law permits.

13. Keeping the site running

We try to keep Starvellan online, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every browser and device. Games and features may be added, changed or retired, and the site may go offline for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control.

Starvellan needs an up-to-date browser with JavaScript and site storage enabled. Some features, accounts among them, do not work where storage is blocked.

14. Liability

We provide Starvellan with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we failed to use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.

Beyond that, as Starvellan is free and for private use, we are not responsible for:

• losses that were not a foreseeable consequence of our breaking these terms;
• business losses of any kind, such as lost profit or lost opportunity;
• losing an account, Glints or progress because site data was cleared, a browser or device was changed or reset, or a recovery key went missing;
• problems caused by your device, browser, connection or other software outside our control.

15. Stopping or being stopped

You may stop using Starvellan whenever you like, and you can delete your account from your account page or by clearing this site's data in your browser. If you breach these terms, we may block your access to the site or to the contact form.

16. When these terms change

We may revise these terms when the site or the law changes; the date at the top of the page shows the latest revision. Where a change affects how you use the site, we will point it out on the site. Carrying on using Starvellan after a change means the revised terms apply.

17. Governing law

The law of England and Wales governs these terms, and disputes may be heard in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland you may also bring proceedings in the Scottish courts, and if you live in Northern Ireland you may also bring them in the courts of Northern Ireland. Wherever in the UK you live, you keep the consumer protections that your local law gives you.
