Inside Midnight Twenty-One

Midnight Twenty-One is the classic card game played against the dealer on sapphire-blue velvet, under a single lamp in a wood-panelled club room. Cards come from a six-deck shoe, the dealer stands on every seventeen, soft or hard, and a natural twenty-one pays three to two.

You may double on any first two cards and split a pair once, and doubling after a split is allowed for every pair except Aces. There is no insurance and no surrender, which keeps each hand simple and quick. The rules page lists every pay and every edge case.
